My artistic path began in the vibrant realm of therapeutic abstract art,where colour was not merely an element, but the very protagonist.Each canvas was a symphony of bold, alive colour's,demanding centre stage and provoking emotional introspection.This foundation in colour’s emotional power remains my core strength.
Now, I explore a new direction: decorative and ambient art. This evolution is a conscious shift from demanding attention to offering a serene, visual embrace brought about by market demand. My new palette embraces earthy, organic tones, warm and muted terracottas.These colours aim not to shout, but to whisper, to harmonize.The goal is inclusivity, not in subject, but in presence to create art that complements an ambience and soothes the soul.
PERFIL
Paulo nasceu em Moçambique em 1971 de pais portugueses. Criado na África do Sul até aos 21 anos, estudou Engenharia Civil após a licenciatura e em 1992 mudou-se para Portugal para continuar os seus estudos no ISEP Porto. Lamentavelmente, ele foi forçado a abandonar sua carreira após um acidente de trabalho.
Ele passou por duas cirurgias lombares, a mais recente das quais foi uma fusão lombar, e vive com dor crônica nos últimos oito anos.
Como sugerido pelo seu neuropsicólogo Dr Miguel Coutinho (Hospital Privado do Algarve), a arte foi incorporada na sua recuperação como ferramenta estimulante e de relaxamento. Os benefícios positivos e eficazes proporcionam alívio muito necessário quando usados em conjunto com outras ferramentas de controle da dor.
Seu trabalho tem sido descrito como colorido escuro, mas inspirador, e sua coleção diversificada demonstra falta de continuidade estilística. O processo criativo é catártico para ele, pois ele permite que suas emoções se espalhem na tela em busca de consolo.
